What are Codex skin presets?

Codex skin presets are pre-designed color and style configurations that you can use as a starting point for your own custom theme. Each preset includes a background color, accent color, surface color, text color, and border color. You can remix any preset in the Studio by changing colors, uploading your own image, or adjusting composition settings.

How to use a preset

  1. Click on any preset to open it in the Studio
  2. Adjust colors, upload an image, or change composition settings
  3. Preview on Home, Task, and Diff work surfaces
  4. Export as Native Theme or Dream Skin
  5. Follow the installation guide to apply to your Codex Desktop

Dark vs Light themes

Dark themes reduce eye strain in low-light environments and are preferred by most developers. Light themes work better in bright rooms and can improve readability for some users. CodexSkin supports both modes, and you can toggle between them in the Studio to find what works best for you.
